Foreign residents in Spain conducted private housing property transactions for an amount of 4.196.2 million euros between January and June 2014. According to the Ministry of Development, this amount is 36% higher than in the same period 2013, which was 3.081.5 million.
The highest volume of transactions was focused in the second-hand housing (resales) , with 3.726.8 million euros in the first six months of the year, up 43% from 2013.
Meanwhile, new houses acquisitions totaled 469.3 million, down 2% from the previous year.
Valencia region was the first
In terms of regional distribution, the community where more transactions were done by foreign residents was Valencia, with 1,041 million euros, of which 889 were in Alicante. Then Andalusia (975,000,000) and Catalonia (817).
British on top
Transactions made by British residents in Spain are on top. The highest number of acquistions, by nationalities, was done by British, which continue to be on top of property transactions. They are followed by Russia, France, and Belgium.
